Sydney was born in Nuremberg German to American parents. When she was six years old her father retired and moved his family West to rural Oregon to a horse ranch in the scenic Willamette Valley. It was here that Sydney’s love of nature began.
“There has never been a period in my life when I didn’t love to paint or draw. From my large oil on canvas paintings to doodling on napkins in restaurants — it’s part of who I am.”
Sydney attended Oregon State University studying Political Science and the University of London where she studied economics. Out of college Sydney moved to San Francisco where she worked in the banking industry and later in technology. In 2018 she began her own startup Ocean SF (oceansf.co), a sustainable social impact sailing apparel brand. Ocean SF marries her love of the outdoors, environmental causes and sportswear.
Sydney also teaches leadership at UC Berkeley. She lives in Moraga, California.

San Fransisco from the East | Oil on Canvas | 12″x30″
One of the things I have loved doing over my lifetime is painting. I work with both oil and water color. I am having a show at the Art Gallery at the Orinda Library the largest gallery in the East Bay of San Fransisco. This is a painting of this beautiful city from the east.
